Job summary

  • Travel between offices for cross-coverage as needed.

Description

North American Medical Associates (NAMA) is a growing Multi-Specialty Medical Practice with a team of doctors and professionals devoted to patient care: diagnosing, managing, and treating chronic pain.

Job Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from the exam/procedure rooms
  • Collect urine specimens at each visit, and process according to visit guidelines.
  • Record patient information such as vital signs, height and weight and changes in medical history at each appointment.
  • Medication Reconciliation in EMR
  • Communicate to providers using the EMR to change the status of the room patients are assigned and do verbal handoff to providers on patient status prior to the visit.
  • Assist providers with minor procedures.
  • Collecting and updating patient HX and medical records.
  • Clean, stock and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
  • Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the office.
  • Assist the office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
  • Administer medications under the supervision and direction of the provider.
  • Prepares equipment for sterilization.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Always practice good customer service in all situations.
  • Occasional travel between offices is required for cross coverage of our Practice locations.
Position Requirements
  • Current Certificate from an accredited; NJ, PA or DE Medical Assistant training school.
  • Current CPR license
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Inventory management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
