Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart in Miramar Beach, FL seeks a Medical Assistant for day shift full-time to support cardiology care. You will assist with patient examinations and treatments under physician guidance, take vital signs, interview patients, and perform clerical duties to keep health records accurate.

Required: HS diploma or equivalent or 1 year of relevant experience; BLS within 30 days; AAMA credential preferred. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered by Ascension.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant credentialed from the AAMA preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable job-specific experience required.
• Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

• Assist with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse.

• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.

• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.

• Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
