Job Details

Job Title: Specialty Clinic Assistant (MA/RMA/CMA/LPN/EMT)

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Supervisor of Clinic Services

Summary/Objectives

Performs a variety of patient care activities and administrative responsibilities for clinic patients and physicians following established standards and practices.

Essential Functions
  1. Manage an efficient, organized clinical flow at all office locations.
  2. Manage clinic schedules and communicate any scheduling issues with the supervisor.
  3. Prepare the clinic prior to scheduled dates, organizing all pertinent information for efficient flow.
  4. Enter X-ray orders according to provider protocols.
  5. Stock exam rooms before and after clinics to ensure supplies and forms are available.
  6. Complete the rooming process, gathering patient information to prepare for exams.
  7. Assist providers during exams as requested, including dressing changes and suture/staple removal.
  8. Enter patient orders as directed and fax according to protocol.
  9. Schedule patient appointments as needed.
  10. Understand workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  11. Participate in developing protocols, policies, and procedures.
  12. Assist in compliance with regulatory agencies and proper documentation.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Travel Required
  • Ability to drive to various clinic sites.
  • Maintain a current driver's license.
Required Education and Experience
  • For MA: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • For RMA: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current Registration through AAMA.
  • For CMA: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current Medical Assistant Certification through AAMA.
  • For LPN: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and current LPN license.
  • For EMT: Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and interruptions.
  • Knowledge of spine and neurological conditions is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Two years in a specialty healthcare clinic.
