Summary of Job Duties: The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the supervision of the clinic physician, assisting in examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include conducting patient interviews, measuring vital signs, recording information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), drawing blood, preparing specimens, and assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling and registration.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or GED with successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Ability to perform point-of-care testing, draw blood, and prepare samples for lab processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of MA experience
  • BLS (CPR) Certification
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with medical procedures and examinations
  • Research and process physician orders in Epic, collect patient data, and perform phlebotomy
  • Perform EKGs, dressing changes, and administer medications as per policy
  • Manage appointment schedules and greet patients professionally
  • Handle registration, check-out, and insurance verification
  • Coordinate referrals, tests, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
