Job Title: Medical Assistant

Shift: 1st Shift, 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM

Schedule: 4 Days Per Week, 40 Hours Per Week, 12-week contract (Possible extensions or FTE)

Job Summary:

• A Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional and an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team.
• Responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and other duties as assigned.
• Instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient’s visit.
• May be required to cross-train and float as needed to maintain optimal clinic operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must meet one of the following:

• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate).
• Graduate of a non-CAAHEP or non-ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate).
• Military Medic/Corpsman training.

OR

Licensure & Certifications:

Must currently possess and be in good standing with at least one of the following:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE)

AND

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent
