• Medical Assistant program graduate or prior Medical Assisting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results and hospital reports from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients and pharmacies.
• Maintain patient samples, medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean examination rooms and equipment.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and queues.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Perform phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety and quality standards.

• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
