Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for our healthcare client in Middletown, Ohio. The role supports physicians with examinations, patient flow, and clinical tasks in a busy office setting.

Candidates will have a Medical Assistant program background, be proficient in EMR and patient communications, and hold an active BLS certification. Opportunity to contribute to a patient-centric team and grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• BL S certification required; relevant clinical experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results and hospital reports as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and manage office tasks and queues.
• Perform phlebotomy and other clinical duties as assigned.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
