Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a leading healthcare network in the Cincinnati region. The role supports physicians with examinations, patient flow, and documentation in EMR, while handling tests, medications, and room preparation.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, complete Medical Assistant training (or equivalent experience), and BLS certification, along with strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or prior Medical Assisting experience is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making per office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and related queues.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or oversee work queues.
