Job summary

Gastroenterology Health Partners in Louisville, KY is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support our physicians and allied health team at the main clinic and a satellite location in Shepardsville, KY, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities include measuring vitals, collecting specimens, recording health histories, assisting during office visits, managing prescriptions and referrals, answering patient questions, and scheduling tests and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

Snapshot of Daily Duties:

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patients chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations
