Job summary

Gastroenterology Health Partners is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for our New Albany clinic at 2630 Grant Line Road. Ideal candidates have medical terminology knowledge, BLS/CPR certification, and experience in a medical office.

You will support physicians, measure vitals, collect specimens, manage prescriptions and referrals, and help schedule tests and appointments. This role offers growth in a diverse, inclusive team with competitive benefits through One GI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs and document results in patient charts.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain and record health history of patients.
• Assist physician during office visits and emergencies.
• Manage prescriptions and referrals as directed.
• Schedule office visits, procedures, tests, and imaging as needed.
• Answer patient questions and relay test results.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments

Snapshot Of Daily Duties

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and documents all information in patient’s chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Assist the physician with office visits. Must be able to assist physician in an emergency.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by physician.
• Answer patient questions. Notify patients of test results
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments as necessary.

The Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations
