Job summary
Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our teams in Jackson, TN and Dyersburg, TN. This role travels between clinic locations during the week to support patient care and integrated treatment services.
Responsibilities include scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, phlebotomy and lab tasks, and coordinating with physicians within an integrated care framework. Prior experience with EHRs and CPR certification is preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
- 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience desired.
- CPR certification required or obtainable.
- Phlebotomy, injections, and lab experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and manage front-desk flow.
- Check in/out patients and monitor the patient flow.
- Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, and assist with evaluations.
- Coordinate med calls and input patient data into the EHR.
- Process prior authorizations and manage payments and benefits.

- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
- Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
- Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
- Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
- Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
- Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
- Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
- Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
- Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
- Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
- High School Diploma required
- Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred
- 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
- Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
- Experience with injections preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
