Job summary

Spero Health in Greenwood, Indiana is hiring a Medical Assistant to join an integrated care team that includes counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. This four-day-per-week position supports scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, urine drug screens and medication coordination.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and 1–3 years of MA experience; CPR certification is required and phlebotomy/lab experience is preferred.

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience requested.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage flow.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, and assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into the EHR.
• Send prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our awesome team in Greenwood!

This position is for a Medical Assistant who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. **This role is 4 days/week**

The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scheduling patient appointments.

• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
