Job summary

Spero Health, INC. seeks a Medical Assistant to support our integrated care teams in Jackson, TN and Dyersburg, TN. This role travels between clinics during the week to assist with scheduling, patient check-in, vital signs and basic submissions.

You will work alongside physicians and counselors, perform urine drug screens, input data in the EHR, and help with payments and education on medications. Requires high school diploma and 1–3 years MA experience, CPR certification, and preferred

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program is preferred.
• 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• CPR certification required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens and take vital signs.
• Assist with patient evaluations and call in medications as directed.
• Input accurate patient information into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Send prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summaries and balance payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database and educate patients about medications.

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our awesome teams in Jackson, TN and Dyersburg, TN!

*** This position will travel to both clinic locations during the week ***

This position is for a Medical Assistant who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
