Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Part Time Medical Assistant to support client employees and dependents at Health Centers in Hoover, AL. The role focuses on patient-centered care, from check-in to checkout, with a collaborative team and a consistent schedule.

You will interview patients, take vital signs, update records, prepare rooms, administer medications, and perform basic lab tests as allowed by state regulations.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from Premise Health approved organization or equivalent with externship completed.
• Current BLS/CPR (AHA, ARC) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.

As a Part Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Centers located in Hoover, AL.

The scheduled hours

are Tuesdays: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PM, Thursdays: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Every other Saturday 7:00 AM - 11:00AM

• Be part of a collaborative, patient-centered team where you'll play an essential role in supporting providers and ensuring smooth clinic operations from patient check-in through checkout.
• Experience variety in your workday while maintaining consistency in your schedule, caring for patients with a range of needs.

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
