Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant for our Health Center in Battle Creek, MI. You will support client employees and their dependents, with hours as needed to cover PTO and biometric screenings.

The Health Center operates Monday–Friday, 7:00a–5:30p. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, maintaining records, room preparation, administering medications, performing lab tests and EKGs, and handling front-desk tasks.

Qualifications

• CMA certification or national Medical Assisting cert with hands-on externship
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (AHA/ARC) with hands-on training
• Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accuracy
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Administers medications including injections and performs labs and EKGs
• Performs front-desk duties, schedules appointments and orders supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

As a PRN Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Battle Creek, MI. The scheduled hours are as needed to cover PTO and Biometric Screenings. The Health Center hours are Monday - Friday 7:00a - 5:30p.

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands‑on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
