Premise Health's mission is to help people get, stay, and be well. Premise Health seeks a Full Time Medical Assistant for its Health Center in Tuscaloosa, AL, to care for employees and dependents.

You will interview patients, record vital signs, maintain records, prepare rooms, assist with injections and lab work, operate EKGs, and handle front-d desk tasks. We offer comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) match, holidays, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization or certificate/diploma with hands-on externship completed.
• Current certification with hands-on training in BLS from AHA/ARC or equivalent is required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Maintains patient health records with accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Administers medications including injections, performs lab tests, operates EKGs and related equipment.
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at front desk, schedules appointments, and orders supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Tuscaloosa, AL.

The scheduled hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and Every Other Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
