Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and clinical tasks, including obtaining and documenting patient histories, answering and directing phone calls, and ensuring completion of all necessary forms
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and summarizing patient history for providers
  • Set up and maintain clean, organized treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Communicate physician instructions to patients and answer questions regarding treatment and care
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout their visit
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
  • Assist providers, clinical staff, and other team members as needed
  • Perform other duties to support overall clinic operations

Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, direct patient care and support to providers and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a professional and efficient manner.

Advocare, LLC is a physician-owned partnership of leading pediatricians, family practitioners, and specialists in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. As a Medical Assistant, you’ll be an integral member of a forward-thinking clinical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Medical Assistant Essential Functions:

  • Perform a wide range of administrative and clinical tasks, including obtaining and documenting patient medical histories, answering and directing phone calls, and ensuring completion of all necessary forms
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Prepare patients for examinations by conducting preliminary physical assessments, taking vital signs, and summarizing patient history for providers

Requirements

Medical Assistant Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (eCW) is a plus
