Summary
The Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical tasks within our clinic, working under the supervision of a physician or Mid-Level Provider and the Clinic Manager. They help maintain organization and ensure efficient clinic operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate within the scope of practice for Medical Assistants.
- Manage patient flow, assist with provider schedules, and communicate delays.
- Prepare for visits by reviewing medical records and test results; document patient information accurately.
- Identify patients using two identifiers, take vitals, conduct patient intake, assist during encounters, and provide discharge education.
- Assist providers with procedures, prepare exam rooms, and obtain consent.
- Administer medications as directed, educate patients, and obtain necessary consents.
- Perform minor procedures like ECGs and document procedures appropriately.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Medical assisting education or related training, preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems, preferred
- Healthcare experience required
