Job summary

One GI is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support doctors in a busy clinical office. You will measure vital signs, collect specimens, and help manage patient histories and tests.

You’ll assist during visits and emergencies, coordinate prescriptions and referrals, and ensure patient comfort and safety. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and prior Medical Assistant experience, with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Open to travel to the Broadview Heights/Medina Office location.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and document in the patient chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patient health history.
• Assist the physician during office visits and in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions and notify patients of test results.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Prepare examination rooms and restock supplies.
• Assist with scheduling visits, procedures, and tests.

Daily Duties

• Measure vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and document in the patient chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patient health history.
• Assist the physician during office visits and in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions and referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions and notify patients of test results.
• Review procedure reports to ensure all orders and clearances received.
• Escort patients to exam rooms throughout the office as needed.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Prepare examination rooms, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Assist with dressing/undressing of patients as needed.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications (dosage verified).
• Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete required forms.
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x‑rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions and appointments.

Must Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant required.
• Prior experience in a medical office environment preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Open to travel to the Broadview Heights/Medina Office location.
