Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient examinations and treatment under physician supervision. You will manage patient flow, document vital signs and medical history, and accurately enter data in the EMR.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant credential, BLS certification, and strong computer and communication skills to ensure smooth clinic operations and quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant program graduate or prior Medical Assisting experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.

• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
