Job summary

LSU New Orleans seeks a subject matter expert for Medicaid billing and premium collections (LAP, FOA) and Medicare Buy-In payments. You will serve as the primary contact for LAP/FOA inquiries from members, eligibility workers, and external entities, and may step in for Program Managers as SME.

You will monitor the Buy-In system interfacing with LaMEDS, MMIS, and CMS; participate in planning, design, testing, and implementation of changes; and assist in staff training and expenditure projections

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year professional experience with MAGI and NON-MAGI policies.
• Minimum 1 year professional experience with the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and the Louisiana Medicaid Eligibility Determination System (LaMEDS).
• Demonstrates excellent analytical abilities with strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and complete tasks.
• Proven ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities while working independently and applying strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to leverage these tools effectively for communication, documentation, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for billing/premium collections for LAP, FOA, and Buy-In programs.
• Act as primary contact for LAP and FOA inquiries from members and eligibility workers.
• Monitor Buy-In System interfacing with LaMEDS, MMIS, CMS.
• Participate in planning, design, testing, and implementation of changes.
• Assist with training new staff and act as backup to Coordinators/Managers.
• Provide program expenditure projections to LDH management.
