LSU New Orleans is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to manage LAP and FOA program finances, perform reconciliations, and process premium payments. You will respond to plan member inquiries, prepare refunds, and support program reporting and policy changes with cross-department collaboration.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficient MS Office skills.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree required or six years of professional experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum one year general accounting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities

Aufgaben

• Provide primary accounting functions and payment transactions for LAP and FOA programs
• Reconcile funds and apply payments to Individual Billing Plan accounts
• Respond to plan member inquiries about premiums
• Classify and apply mail payments promptly
• Prepare reports of advances and refunds for management
• Process refunds and post returned/declined payments
• Initiate and monitor automatic billing
• Assist with standards and procedures for division operations
• Attend meetings with Program Staff for accountability and reporting
• Support SME on LAP/FOA reporting and policy changes
• Coordinate data exchanges between MTS, OTS and OMF
• Reconcile errors in financial reporting with MTS
• Attend meetings to maintain LDH communication
• Run A/R reports monthly and share balances with management
• Provide periodic updates to Program Staff
• Assist with interim and final financial reports
• Monitor compliance with policies and regulations
• Other duties as required
