Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to translate Medicaid policy into actionable guidance across product, design, and engineering. You will analyze policy, develop research plans, and prioritize work with teams unfamiliar with policy strategy.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of policy analysis experience or a combination of relevant graduate-level education and experience.
• Hands-on experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or authoritative agency guidance.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy, such as applications, verification, renewals, eligibility decisions, notices, or appeals.
• Experience working within agile delivery and human-centered design processes (sprint ceremonies, design reviews, user research).
• Legal work authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship required).
• Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings to improve program processes, operations, or technology.
• Identify policy questions, propose approaches, and advance work when undefined.
• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on policy implementation and decision-making.
• Identify regulatory constraints and risks, proposing solutions balancing compliance and user experience.
• Develop policy briefs, decision frameworks, and process flows to support decisions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation, including scenarios and edge cases.
• Conduct landscape and cross-jurisdictional research for policy implications.
• Build relationships with external partners to share Nava’s policy expertise.
