Job summary

Apploi is seeking a knowledgeable Medicaid Coordinator to join our Massapequa, NY team. You will manage Medicaid applications, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide residents and families through the financial eligibility process.

In this full-time on-site role, you will oversee applications, coordinate with state agencies, and generate insightful reports on billing and conversions while maintaining strict accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• At least 1 year of direct experience with Medicaid applications and re-certifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and managed care guidelines.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.
• Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.
• Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.
• Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.
• Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.
• Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.
• Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.
• Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.
