Excelsior Care Group in Nassau County, NY is seeking a Medicaid Coordinator to join our Massapequa team. The role focuses on managing Medicaid applications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding residents through the eligibility process.

Responsibilities include overseeing applications and re-certifications, supporting families with documentation, tracking statuses, and maintaining Medicaid billing records. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• At least 1 year of direct experience with Medicaid applications and re-certifications.
• Medicaid Portal experience preferred.
• MEDS system experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and managed care guidelines.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.
• Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.
• Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.
• Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.
• Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.
• Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.
• Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.
• Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.
