Job summary

Person County Government's Department of Social Services seeks an Income Maintenance Caseworker II to administer Medicaid or Food & Nutrition programs and determine eligibility. This is a 37.5-hour work week in the Income Maintenance Program unit.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to education and relevant work experience. A valid driver's license and driving record are required by County policy.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or as an Eligibility Specialist.
• If the required minimum training is not met, consideration will be for an Income Maintenance Caseworker I.
• If the position requires a degree, education verification will be required as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for program benefits through Medicaid or Food & Nutrition programs.
• Take and process applications, review cases for continuing eligibility, and react to changes in situation.
• Review information from other sources and automated matches to determine effect on the case, and respond to requests for information.
