Job summary

Maximus is seeking a field-facing eligibility specialist in San Antonio, TX. You will respond to complex inquiries, assist with Medicaid and waiver programs, and guide applicants through enrollment and verification processes.

Responsibilities include intake, data entry, and facilitating access to appropriate service options. The role requires strong Microsoft Office skills, Spanish fluency, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with travel within the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of relevant public-benefits/customer service experience.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to complex inquiries via phone, email, in-person, or systems; provide accurate information on eligibility, enrollment, and services.
• Conduct intake and facilitate eligibility determination through enrollment or termination.
• Explain program concepts including waivers, managed care, and participant rights and responsibilities.
• Assist with application submissions, data entry, and Medicaid eligibility investigations as needed.
• Support consumers in selecting service options while preserving consumer choice and control.
• Resolve escalated cases per procedures; coordinate with internal teams and partners.
