Job summary

Maximus is seeking an Outreach Counselor for the San Antonio area (Atascosa, Bexar, Karnes, Wilson Counties). This role provides guidance on Texas Health and Social Services programs, assists with eligibility questions, and helps applicants through enrollment steps with in-person and telephone support.

The ideal candidate will have a High school diploma or GED and strong communication skills; Spanish or Vietnamese bilingual ability is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent.
• Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries via telephone, email, in person, or system workflows with accurate information on eligibility and enrollment.
• Conduct intake and assist with eligibility determination through enrollment or termination.
• Present program concepts, waivers, managed care, and participant rights and responsibilities.
• Assist consumers with application submission, data entry, and Medicaid eligibility as needed.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and support consumer needs.
• Track interactions and outcomes in applicable systems and escalate for timely resolution.
