Job summary

Maximus is seeking a detail-oriented Eligibility Specialist to assess applications and determine program eligibility in Indiana. You will communicate with applicants, collect missing information, and guide them through Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF processes while updating the state system.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication; strong customer service orientation.
Accurate data entry (40 keystrokes/minute) and ability to handle complex inquiries.
Experience in a call center environment is a plus; ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

Receive, assess, and screen applications with proactive communication to collect missing information.
Validate income, assess eligibility, and manage case referrals.
Engage daily with program participants to support eligibility and services.
Educate callers on program services and eligibility prerequisites while maintaining professionalism.
Record updates in the State eligibility system and prepare cases for review.
