Job summary

Visiting Nurse Health System Inc. is seeking a Program Assistant-Medicaid Specialist in Atlanta to perform Medicaid eligibility tasks and related administrative duties.

You will support program staff, coordinate with DFCS, and ensure timely submission and tracking of Medicaid applications. The role requires strong typing, interpersonal communication, and solid computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Two years’ healthcare experience preferred.
• Must type 40 wpm with accuracy; strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Submit Medicaid applications timely per CCSP standards.
• Manage COMPASS/GATEWAY Medicaid systems and track applications.
• Navigate GAMMIS to verify Medicaid status and eligibility type.
• Check portals for statuses and update staff accordingly.
• Send letters to clients with verifications needed.
• Conduct phone interviews with clients, families, and DFCS as needed.
• File documents in client electronic charts (Harmony/Framework) with accuracy.
• Date stamp Medicaid/DFCS mail as required.
