Job summary

The State of South Carolina in Columbia seeks an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) to determine Medicaid eligibility under department policies. You will collect and evaluate documents from applicants to determine individual and family eligibility, and complete determinations, reviews, and changes in a timely manner.

You will use electronic tools, document decisions clearly, and escalate when necessary. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree may substitute for work experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for required program experience.
• Proficiency with computers, MS Office, and basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Determines/re-determines Medicaid eligibility per policies and procedures.
• Collects and evaluates applicant documentation to determine eligibility.
• Completes eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes in a timely manner.
• Documents notes clearly in systems and escalates as needed.
