Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (Non-MAGI) to determine and re-determine Medicaid eligibility in Orangeburg County. This in-office role requires collecting and reviewing documentation from applicants and beneficiaries to support accurate determinations.

You will follow state policies, maintain clear documentation, and communicate with applicants in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma with relevant program experience in customer services, social services, or Medicaid processing.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Overtime and/or weekend work may be required with Deputy approval.

Responsibilities

• Determine and redetermine Medicaid eligibility according to policies and procedures.
• Collect and evaluate documentation from applicants and beneficiaries to determine eligibility.
• Complete all eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes with accurate and timely documentation.
• Maintain professional communication with co-workers and beneficiaries; ensure confidentiality and privacy.
