The State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (Non-MAGI) in Charleston County to determine and re-determinine Medicaid eligibility. This in-office role requires gathering and evaluating documentation from applicants to establish eligibility in accordance with policy.

You will use state systems to process determinations, maintain accurate notes, and communicate clearly with beneficiaries and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility determinations and documentation is preferred.
• Substitution of a bachelor’s degree for the required program experience is allowed.

Responsabilités

• Determines and redetermines Medicaid eligibility per policies and procedures.
• Collects and evaluates documentation to determine individual and family eligibility.
• Documents notes clearly in the systems and communicates with beneficiaries and co-workers.
