Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) for in-office work in Greenville County. You will determine and redetermine Medicaid eligibility, collect documentation, and process determinations efficiently while maintaining privacy and accurate records.

Responsibilities include following policies, communicating with applicants and beneficiaries, and ensuring timely updates to case records in the system.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
• Must demonstrate ability to learn, retain, and apply information about federal rules and standards for Medicaid eligibility.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly and concisely; work in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine/re-determine Medicaid eligibility according to policies and procedures.
• Collect and evaluate documentation from applicants to determine eligibility.
• Complete all eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes accurately and timely.
• Document notes and steps clearly for review and hand-off.
• Maintain professional communication with coworkers and beneficiaries; follow privacy policies.
