Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Medicaid Eligibility Product Owner to lead the state backlog for Medicaid eligibility and enrollment systems. You will translate eligibility policy into epics and user stories, balancing federal mandates with member impact.

Work with state agencies, policy experts, and technology teams to ensure clear rules, acceptance criteria, and timely decisions. You will track outcomes, coordinate with related programs, and report progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, product manager, or business lead on government or healthcare systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, or integrated eligibility systems.
• Working knowledge of Medicaid eligibility rules, including MAGI and non-MAGI categories, verifications, and renewals.
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria and managing a backlog in Jira, Azure DevOps, or a similar tool.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
• Clear, plain-spoken communication with technical teams and agency executives alike.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog for Medicaid eligibility and enrollment system, balancing mandates, policy, and member impact.
• Translate eligibility policy into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead impact analysis for new federal and state requirements, including renewal rules.
• Partner with state policy and program staff to clarify rules and document decisions.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, developers, testers, and business analysts through planning and reviews.
• Accept completed work against acceptance criteria and support user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate dependencies with SNAP, MMIS, and managed care programs.
• Track product outcomes and use them to guide priorities.
• Communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks to agency leadership.
