Job summary

Sunnyside Care Center is seeking a motivated Medicaid Specialist to join our busy nursing home team. The role involves guiding potential enrollees through the Medicaid application process, managing documentation, and ensuring timely recertifications to prevent lapses.

You will liaise with residents, families, and LDSS/government agencies, educate applicants, and maintain accurate eligibility records. Growth opportunities are available within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Educate potential enrollees regarding the Medicaid process.
• Collect documentation and assemble/submit application packets.
• Follow-up communication with LDSS offices to track applications through the system.
• Recertify all residents’ coverage before it lapses (typically annually).
• Research and resolve Medicaid issues including provision of requested documentation within specified time frames.
• Maintain accurate records of members’ eligibility statuses and recertification dates.
• Be a community ambassador for the facility.
