Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Call Center experience and customer service orientation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility opportunities and initiate the application process.
• Communicate with the patient to obtain documents required for the application.
• Update insurance information and ensure timely billing or adjustment posting after submission.
• Document actions and communications in assigned patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state/federal Medicaid requirements and collaborate with partners.
