Job summary

Ensemble RCM is hiring for a Patient Financial Specialist at our Springfield, IL site. You will interview uninsured/underinsured patients, determine Medicaid eligibility, and assist with application submissions.

You will also follow up to ensure timely billing and adjustments, documenting every action in our patient accounting systems. This role requires 1–2 years in healthcare facing financial discussions, a high school diploma or GED, and a CRCR certification within 9 months.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare interacting with patients regarding financial issues.
• Inquisitive with openness to innovation including AI to improve processes.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle, patient insurance processes, authorizations and benefits verification.

Responsibilities

• Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine Medicaid eligibility.
• Assist with applications to ensure accurate submissions.
• Follow up on submissions to ensure timely billing or adjustments.
• Document actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share with team.
• Collaborate with Medicaid caseworkers and other revenue cycle departments.
