Job summary

U.M. FDSP Associates is seeking an Insurance Specialist to support dental insurance operations across clinics. The role includes verifying insurance, MA eligibility, processing authorizations and claims, and resolving AR issues. Strong Medicaid knowledge and MS Office skills are essential.

You will liaise with patients, staff, and providers, maintain records, and ensure accurate data entry for insurance information across departments.

Qualifications

• At least three years accounting clerical experience.
• Experience with automated clinical information systems and Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Verifying and entering dental insurance and communicating with insurance companies.
• Determining MA eligibility and obtaining proper identification from patients.
• Researching assigned accounts receivable to resolve outstanding issues and resubmit claims.
• Answering patient, student, and staff inquiries regarding MA dental insurance by phone or in person.
• Submitting pre-authorizations and claims with attachments as required by insurance.
• Resolving problems with claims rejected by the EDI system.
• Creating a daily check log in Excel.
• Preparing daily deposit of checks with complete summaries and bank reports.
• Reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for correct codes.
• Posting payments to patient accounts and applying discounts and write-offs as per policy.
• Reviewing accounts for errors and discrepancies and performing adjustments or refunds.
• Collaborating with program assistants to ensure accurate entering of patient insurance information.
• Maintaining manual and automated record systems.
