Job summary

Fort Mill School District – York 4 is seeking an Accounting Specialist – Medicaid Billing to manage district-wide Medicaid billing and revenue tracking. This role ensures accurate, timely claims and compliance with SCDE and state manuals.

The position reports to the Senior Executive Director of Finance, requires 240 contract days per year, and collaborates with schools and service providers to maintain documentation and reporting for Medicaid revenue.

Responsibilities

• Manage the district’s school-based Medicaid billing process in accordance with applicable manuals and fee schedules.
• Verify services are documented (IEP/IFSP, authorizations, logs, signatures) before claim submission.
• Verify student Medicaid eligibility and MCO enrollment before billing.
• Submit, track, and reconcile Medicaid claims and resubmit corrected claims as needed.
• Reconcile remittance advices and deposits; prepare journal entries for Medicaid revenue.
• Maintain SDAC participation including rosters and time-study compliance.
• Collaborate with service providers to ensure timely documentation and billing.
• Maintain provider roster, licensure, NPI, and Medicaid enrollment status.
• Review invoices against services and contract terms; monitor costs.
• Produce monthly budget-to-actual reports and year-end projections.
