Job summary

The New School in New York, NY, seeks a part-time Media Studies Communications Assistant to support the MA program’s outreach to current students, alumni, and prospective students. You will help produce the MediaLog monthly newsletter, manage social media, and coordinate with the AMT team for timely delivery.

Responsibilities include soliciting news, copy editing, design tasks, and maintaining the newsletter archive. A hybrid schedule is expected with on-campus and remote work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student in good standing at The New School with a minimum GPA 3.0
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Experience with web publishing and social media applications is expected
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent tools

Responsibilities

• Maintain calendar for regular monthly MediaLog publication
• Serve as point person for student news and events updates
• Coordinate with student organizations to gather updates
• Design visual elements for publication
• Create social media content per guidelines for faculty approval
• Edit event announcements per MediaLog style
• Organize and maintain newsletter archives
