Job summary

The New School seeks a Design Assistant for InsideSchools to create engaging digital and print content. You’ll maintain website resources, edit photos, and support outreach and community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities include graphic design, photography, data visualization, and content creation for promotion, with a flexible hybrid schedule on campus and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Current full-time New School student with a Federal Work Study award for 2026-27.
• Interest in urban education issues and family–school relationships.
• Ability to create graphics for flyers, social media and websites.
• Experience with CMS and productivity tools; strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Describe over 1,800 NYC public schools and centers.
• Elevate student voices and engage parents.
• Develop resources to support NYC public school families.
• Update InsideSchools site and search tools; provide design suggestions.
• Produce content for marketing, emails and flyers; manage visuals.
• Support data collection and analysis via surveys, interviews and focus groups.
