Job summary

FOX 2 Detroit is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Local Account Executives and Sales Managers by handling advertising order entry, revisions, and reporting in WideOrbit.

You will coordinate with digital sales, traffic, research and other teams, prepare weekly advertiser reports, and assist with invoicing, contracts, and payments while upholding accuracy and customer service in Detroit’s fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach.
• Comfortable working with numbers and data with a focus on accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn industry software including WideOrbit, Media Sales, and AOS.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Account Executives with advertising order entry, revisions, and reporting in the WideOrbit Traffic system.
• Communicate with sales representatives and buyers regarding preempts, make-good offers, program changes, late runs, and other account activity.
• Provide weekly advertiser reports, including spot times and post reports.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and buyers to address invoicing, discrepancies, and collection issues.
• Support Sales Management with political advertising, including maintaining contracts, ensuring FCC documentation is complete, and verifying cash-in-advance payments.
• Collaborate with the Traffic department on advertising copy management.
• Support other station departments and initiatives as needed.
