Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in West Des Moines is seeking a Med Tech (full-time or part-time) to administer and document medications under physician orders. The role requires attention to safety and resident well-being, with shifts including PT and FT options.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and experience in senior living, with state-mandated medication administration training and basic First Aid knowledge. Competitive benefits listed in the ad.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years’ senior living experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write English; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and document prescribed medications per physician orders.
• Order meds from pharmacy 7 days prior to running out; ensure timely delivery.
• Document medications after administration; initial bubble pack.
• Observe and report adverse medication reactions to licensed staff.
• Take and record vital signs before meds that may affect readings.
• Report medication errors to Wellness Director immediately.
• Assist in care plan development with other disciplines.
• Maintain resident privacy, dignity and comfort.
• Assist residents with daily activities and mobility as needed.
