Job summary

Discovery Senior Living’s Rittenhouse Village at Lehigh Valley is seeking a Care Giver/Med Tech to provide hands-on care and support to residents in a safe, home-like environment. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, and contribute to a compassionate care program.

The role includes medication observation, documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff. CNA certification preferred; high school diploma required; 18+; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR certification preferred.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for a designated group of residents during the shift; check on residents regularly.
• Observe, report and document symptoms and conditions of residents.
• Respond to resident calls and security system promptly.
• Notify supervisor if resident care needs increase.
• Assist with continence management and sanitation of resident areas.
• Assist with meals, serve trays and report refusals or loss of appetite.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
• Follow standard care precautions for cleanliness and health.
• Promote independence, dignity and safety for residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living as instructed and encourage participation.
• Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities.
• Greet and assist internal/external customers, guests, and family members.
• Perform resident laundry as assigned.
• Review service plans for resident information; observe and assist with medications.
• Document medication administration using the Six Rights and maintain med records.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Report concerns to Nurse or HCC and restock medication cart.
• Maintain and clean Medication Room and charts; check medications for expiry.
• Follow refill process and participate in service plan updates.
• Record vitals (temp, BP, weight, pulse, respiration) as required.
• Report occupational exposures immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
