Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Care Giver/Med Tech to provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents in a safe, home-like environment. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, respond to calls, and help with medications under supervision.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aid certification preferred.
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Experience with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for a designated group of residents during the shift; know where residents are and check on them.
• Observe, report and document symptoms and conditions of residents for changes in condition.
• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly.
• Notify supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
• Assist with continence management and sanitation of resident areas.
• Serve and collect food trays and assist as needed; report refusals or loss of appetite.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
• Practice good hygiene and health precautions.
• Help residents maintain independence and dignity; promote safety.
• Lead and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating).
• Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities.
• Greet and assist internal/external customers, guests, families, residents, vendors, and team members.
• Perform resident laundry as assigned.
