Job summary

Brio Living Services in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Med Tech for the 3rd shift (10pm–6:15am), part‑time. You will administer medications, assist with daily activities, monitor residents’ health, and provide compassionate care in Memory Care and Memory Support settings.

The role requires at least 1 year of medication passing experience, familiarity with EMAR, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Weekend premiums apply; benefits begin after 30 days.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous caregiver experience in healthcare, preferably with seniors or in long‑term care.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Medications & Treatments per care plans.
  • Provide Hands‑On Care for ADLs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support Mealtime and hydration for overall health.
  • Promote Mobility through safe transfers and positioning.
  • Perform Vital Checks and record measurements.

Compensation: $18.04 - $20.17 / hour

Description

Schedule:19 hours per week | 3rd shift 10pm-6:15am | Varies Monday - Friday, every other weekend | No scheduling mandation

Shift Premium: Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm - Sun 10:59 pm) 0.50

What You'll Do: As a Medication Technician, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents. You won’t just be administering medications, you’ll be a trusted caregiver, a health advocate, and a comforting presence in their daily lives.

In this rewarding role, you'll ensure medications and treatments are delivered with accuracy and care, support daily health monitoring, and provide compassionate, hands‑on assistance that helps our residents thrive. Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications & Treatments – Pass medications and provide treatments safely according to care plans.
  • Provide Hands‑On Care – Assist residents with personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for overall health.
  • Promote Mobility – Assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers to keep residents moving safely.
  • Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
  • Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep residents’ rooms tidy, cozy, and stocked with essentials.
  • Respond to Resident Needs – Answer call lights promptly and provide compassionate support.
  • Monitor Resident Conditions – Report any changes to the leadership team immediately.
  • Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering high‑quality care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors or in long‑term care.
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems, preferred.
