Job summary

Alger Heights Senior Living Facility in Grand Rapids is seeking a dedicated Med Tech to assist residents with daily activities and administer medications per physician orders. You’ll join a supportive team focused on safe, compassionate elder care and a positive resident experience.

Responsibilities include helping residents with transfers, bathing, meals, documenting medications accurately, and responding to call lights.

Qualifications

• Pass a criminal background check.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Experience in medication administration and working with seniors.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

3rd Shift

As a Med Tech you will be in charge of:

• Providing assistance to residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking
• Administering medications and injections to residents based on physicians’ orders recorded in medical charts
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the environment which may involve light housekeeping duties
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
• Monitoring for changes in residents’ conditions and promptly communicate any changes to the supervisor
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Adhering to procedures regarding documenting of medications accurately
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and ensuring their safety
• Assisting other team members with their duties as necessary
• Responding to call lights and assess residents’ needs promptly
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
