Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Med Surg department. The role provides technical support to nursing staff, handles clerical tasks, scheduling, and supply management to ensure smooth department operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; outpatient setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to the nursing staff and perform computer, clerical, scheduling, and supply tasks for the department.
• Greet visitors, patients, and staff; answer questions and refer items to appropriate staff.
• Enter orders into Epic and transcribe physician/nursing orders accurately.
• Assemble and file medical records for admissions and discharges; maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain communications about reports, orders, and messages to nurses and staff.
• Ensure timely completion of discharge paperwork and charting; prepare charts for discharge.
