California RN license required.
BSN preferred; if not on hire, to obtain within 5 years preferred.
1 year of acute care clinical experience preferred; ortho/stroke experience preferred.
Cardiac Cath Lab nurses: 1 year in ICU/stepdown/ER; IR/EP or Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
Two years’ experience with Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical nursing preferred for 6th Floor Med/Surg employees.

Responsibilities

Assist charge nurse with planning delivery of patient care for the shift.
Precepting and competency validating new hires and procedures.
Teaching nursing students and delegating to other RNs, LVNs, CNAs.
Coordinating assigned team and communicating expectations.
Identify improvement opportunities and report unusual events; follow chain of command.
